Wisdom Is Calling
Beginning this week, our 2020 Bible Project takes us on a 3-week journey through the Wisdom literature of scripture: Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Job. The videos we're going to watch from TheBibleProject.com are simply phenomenal! We hope you will join us!
These three books invite us into powerful conversations around some of the hardest and deepest questions about life: how do we live well? What about suffering and injustice? Does my life really have any meaning? If so, how do I find it? If not, why do I try? Can God really be trusted? No, really?
Maybe you're like me - maybe 2020 has brought many of these questions back to the surface of your mind. Maybe these voices from scripture will be welcome as this difficult year confronts our assumptions about what really matters.
Today, we begin with Proverbs. Proverbs wants us to live well, and it knows our lives are formed through millions of decisions. So Proverbs implores us to cultivate wisdom so we can make good choices and build a good life.
In a noisy world full of voices telling us how to live and how to think, Proverbs challenges us to choose carefully. Which voice will you follow? Which voice will you trust?
