With those great promises come lots of room for heartache and disappointment when it doesn't look the way we think it should. For some of us, it isn't that we're considering leaving or getting a divorce. It's that we've decided to settle for less than the dreams we had in the beginning. At this point, we're left with a decision - will we be self-responsible and look at what we do or don't/won't do to contribute to where we are? Or will we find reasons to settle for less than all that God has to offer in this relationship.
This morning we're going to look at a few of the things - myths - that choose to believe or at least use as reasons to settle for less than great when it comes to marriage. My prayer is that if you see yourself in one of these areas you will have the courage to confess it to your spouse, ask for their support, and pray for the courage to do something about it.
