God's Forgiveness of You

Are you going through life without the sensation of knowing and feeling the forgiveness of God? Do you walk through your day confident that you are forgiven?

If not, God has a serious problem with you. He cannot bear the idea that you think His love has limits. He cannot stand it when you think that your sin, shame, failure, betrayal, hang-up, guilt or any other thing has more power than His love and forgiveness.

Jesus came all the way from Heaven to Earth to demonstrate this often, in as many ways as he could, to convince you. To show you that you are forgiven.

A woman was legitimately caught in adultery. Yes, it is a sin. Yes, it is shameful. She deserve condemnation. Instead, this woman receives forgiveness and mercy.

Zacchaeus was a corrupt, greedy, selfish business man. Yes, he hurt many people unjustly. He cheated his neighbors, and not in secret. Finally, when he longed to see Jesus, he deserved rejection. Instead, this man received forgiveness and acceptance.

Peter could not have been invested in more by God. Jesus chose him, befriended him, proved himself to him, entrusted him intimately and yet Peter rejects and denies him at his most desperate hour. He deserved to be kicked out of church leadership, at a minimum. Instead, this man received forgiveness and a second chance.

It is almost as if God wants us to think that nothing can separate us from His love. When will you live under the truth that God’s love for you is more powerful than you? When will you believe the might and power of the Gospel? When will you live under the authority of God’s forgiveness of you?

Look at Jesus and believe: You. Are. Forgiven.
