Unwittingly, we oftentimes elevate some gifts over others when it comes to the Kingdom of God.
In scripture, even when it is not true, we think that God's elite are always prophets, priests, and kings in the Old Testament, and apostles, missionaries, and ministers in the New Testament. Everyone else is like the B-Team or something.
I guess, without reflection on the facts, this mistake is understandable. We tend to inappropriately elevate others gifts and diminish our own.
But we forget that God uses all kinds of people and gift sets. He uses shepherds, fishermen, carpenters, artists, musicians, farmers, blacksmiths, gardeners, ranchers, business owners, accountants, seamstresses - and dozens of others - to make a major impact.
Case in point is our man Bezalel. Remember him?
Neither did I. Most people don't. He's a minor character, but he had a major, major impact.
Do you remember Moses? How about Aaron? Most people familiar with scripture remember these two. What if I told that that without Bezalel, the vision of Moses for the Tabernacle, and the ministry of Aaron in the Tabernacle would have NEVER happened?
That's right. The place where God descended and dwelled among His people would never have even existed without a guy who's name we don't know how to pronounce, who had gifts that we might say aren't very "spiritual".
God gave this man his gifts for His glory. Same is true of you.
