Master: Dear one, the Kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power.
Disciple: So can you not talk of the Kingdom?
Master: I can. And I do. As should all who follow me. But if you accept the Kingdom only as an idea or place, then you will miss it.
Disciple: I do not want to miss it! Where is its power?
Master: Much nearer to you than you think. The Kingdom is an experience that is felt, a way of life that is lived, and a transcendent reality that only those who seek it, find.
Disciple: I seek! What does the Kingdom feel like?
Master: It feels like peace, and joy, and like all is right.
Disciple: And what constitutes the way of life?
Master: Justice, mercy, and faithfulness.
Disciple: I will seek all of these. What of this transcendent reality? Can you describe it?
Master: This is where talk fails, my child, for fear of minimizing it. However, if you allow the feelings of peace, joy, and rightness to be your compass, and you live a life of bringing justice, issuing mercy, and being faithful, the Kingdom posture will form in you, and you will know the power of which I speak.
Disciple: This is too much for me to attain, Master!
Master: It would be, my child, except that my Holy Spirit, who burns within you, makes it so. If only you will seek the Kingdom first, and are willing to receive it, it is yours.
