Celebration & Anticipation

Back in the very beginning of all things, Genesis tells us that as God created, he declared those creations "good."

In Psalm 133:1, there is something that man has a part in creating that is also declared good: "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"

The church leadership here at Southwest are so deeply grateful for the unity that this church family shares in our mission of making disciples of Jesus through loving relationships with God and others.

The year of our Lord 2015 (and I mean that literally, because we think every year belongs to our Lord), the stewardship of our congregation has enabled Southwest to offer meaningful, life-changing, Kingdom-bringing ministry to many people.

It is worth celebrating and declaring good, and today, we are going to do that. And we do this as a church not to boast of our own works (most of you would rather it not be mentioned at all), but as an honest effort to honor and glorify God for what He has allowed us to be a part of.

Every time you give, whether of your time or of your treasure, you actively engage in the mission of our church.

As we celebrate what would not have happened in this world without Southwest in 2015, we also want to stir your heart to anticipate what God will be doing with us in 2016. The world around us is searching for hope, and we plan on delivering it - personally, relationally, by each one of us - for the glory of God and benefit of others.

May God make more and better disciples because of His church at Southwest this year.
