If there is one thing that scripture makes perfectly clear, it is that God is NOT a man.
This is made clear right at the outset when scripture says that God created man. It was just a few pages later that God grieved creating man. Isn't this enough to agree that God is not a man?
If not, well a few pages over in the Bible is the record of a prophet named Balaam who says it in no uncertain terms: "God is not a man." (Numbers 23:19)
What is God? Deuteronomy says that God is a consuming fire. The book of John says that God is spirit. 1 John says that God is light and love. Psalms says God is a sun and a shield. Even in scripture, it is hard to say definitely what God is.
But at least it is clear about what God is not. God is not a man.
Well, except for that one time... the same scripture that contains all kinds of statements about how God is not a man, and is altogether superior to man, also contain 4 books that record approximately 3 decades of history when God was a man.
For the rest of this winter and spring, we are going to look at these 4 books - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John - chronologically and walk with God through His days when He was a man; the man Jesus Christ.
If you are looking for a good study, I will be using the NIV HARMONY OF THE GOSPELS by Thomas and Gundry. Why not order yourself one and read along as we journey with Jesus and witness what God is like as He travels among us, as one of us?
