Faith In God

Hebrews 6 says that a basic, foundational, and elementary truth of our Christian faith is "faith in God."

He goes on to describe faith as "being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1)

Faith is more than believing that what God says is true, it is acting as if what God says is true.

It is being certain enough in something, sure enough, even when you can't see it or prove it definitively, to base your life, behavior, feelings, and actions on it - simply because God said so.

If God says not to worry, faith people don't. If God says no temptation is more than you can bear, faith people never experience more than they can bear. If God says all things work out for good, faith people think all things are ultimately good.

It's a beginner tenet of our followership of Christ.

And without it, we look exactly like everyone else in the world (even if we are always using Christ's name) and we can not please God. (Hebrews 6:6)

Have faith.
