Disciple: Lord, what really counts with God?
Master: What counts is a new creation. (Gal 6:15)
Disciple: What does the new creation look like?
Master: Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. (Gal 5:22-23)
Disciple: I will get to work on those things.
Master: No. (Gal 5:4)
Disciple: No? But they are what counts.
Master: Yes. But if you make them into a new set of rules to measure up to, you will think that by following them you are "saved", rather than becoming the new creation. (Gal 2:21)
Disciple: Then what must I do?
Master: Believe. Surrender. Know. Trust. Let go. Die. (Gal 3:2-5)
Disciple: I do not understand how to "do" belief! Or "do" trust. Or "do" letting go! Or "do" death!
Master: You must learn. For these are the words of faith and transformation. There are no others. And all that matters is faith expressing itself through love. (Gal 5:6)
Disciple: Where do I start?
Master: With love, dear one. Start with love. Believe in it. Surrender to it. Get to know it. Trust it. Let go of all else. Die to it. Start with love.
