The Gospel's Target Audience

After the last three weeks, I hope and pray that you see that the Gospel is very, very, very good news. God has delivered a message to the world. And it claims to address all-encompassing human dilemmas and satisfy universal human desires.

Everyone sins. Everyone needs forgiveness. And the Gospel says: "Forgiveness is yours!"

Everyone needs hope. Hope for a brand new life in the wake of their old one. And the Gospel says: "New life is yours!"

Everyone needs strength. Everyone needs the power to live their days in a world that is only partially full, where joy and peace are constantly assaulted. The Gospel says: "This strength is yours!"

If it is true, then it is very, very, very good.

And yet...many people disqualify themselves or others from its reach.

How often I hear people bemoan the fact that while they believe the Gospel is for others, they just know it is not for them. Not with their sin.

How often I witness people look at others as if the Gospel cannot reach them, not with how they are.

A very important part of the good in the Gospel message is this: It is for everyone. You. Them. Everyone.
