The Most Important Thing

There is no loftier subject in the entire universe than the one we stumble across today as we make our way through the first 17 verses of Colossians 3.

There is no virtue more important...
...no quality more necessary
... no command more mandatory
...no issue more salvational
...no asset more useful
...no medicine more potent
...no practice more beneficial
...no action more excellent
...no focus more heavenly than what we speak of today.

Today, Paul calls us to clothe ourselves with our greatest power, our solution to everything, and our only hope for life and salvation.

If we will follow this suggestion, obey this command, and take up this challenge, our wounded hearts would heal, our souls would live in heaven, and our bodies would be instruments of no less than the very Kingdom of God.

With these words, Paul sums up the intent of God, the mission of Christ, agenda of the Holy Spirit, the purpose of the Bible, and the reason the church exists.

What are these words? They are these, and beware letting their familiarity steal from you their power: "Over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." - Colossians 3:14
