Men. What comes to mind when you say that word?
Current popular culture, at its worst, has characterized men as overgrown adolescents that will never be capable of fully taking responsibility for their own lives, invest tons of time in body sculpting, are in need of a woman (be it for one night or longer) to feel any sort of value or worth, and find their greatest joy in life drinking beer in front of a large flat screen TV with the boys watching a sports event and sleeping in the next morning.
At its best, popular culture describes a "good man" as someone who at least holds a steady job, makes enough money to pay his bills, doesn't go into too much debt, is pretty faithful to his wife if he has one, and shows up at his kid's events if he has any. And they may still find their greatest joy in life drinking at a sporting event with the boys.
But what does God think of when he says the word "man"?
Whatever God thinks of, that is what men should be. Every man should open his Bible and find out.
