In the famous Psalm 23, David spends every single bit of his creative, poetic, literary, and musical energy describing and praising what it is he adores about having the Lord as his shepherd.
Except for one. This last one.
In this last statement, David finishes by stating what he is determined to do in light of the facts. He says, "I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Keller says, "Here is a sheep so utterly satisfied with its lot in life, so fully contented with the care it receives, so much 'at home' with the shepherd that there is not a shred of desire to change."
King David is saying that there is nothing that would ever make him leave the care of God. He's got it too good! He will not budge. His loyalty is secure.
How about you?
Have you chosen to dwell in God's "house"? Are you resolved to stay in His "flock"? Are you convinced that there is no one better to belong to, no path superior to the one upon which God leads you?
It is a question that demands an answer: Will you dwell in the house of the Lord forever?
