"Mind your own business!" is the cry of far too many people when someone starts sticking their noses into their financial affairs.
Ironically, those same words describe the heart behind God's instructions to us concerning what we do with our money. We all have a "financial business" we are each running, whether we realize it or not. Are you minding your own business? Are you using your money haphazardly? Are you spending? Are you investing? Are you saving? Are you giving?
Do you pay any mind at all to your own business?
Proverbs 27:23 says, "Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds."
This is Old Testament code for "mind your own business."
We've gotten so private about our finances, and so proud about our rights to spend our money however we want, and so privileged that even in our financial trouble we still eat, that we have gotten quite lazy about really looking at what would be a healthy, God-honoring, Christ-exalting financial plan.
Let's consider a healthy, simple, Gospel-honoring financial plan today.
