How Much Should I Give To My Church?
Disciple: Master, should I tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: But didn't you say that whatever amount I give, I should give with a joyful heart?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: Does this not free me from the tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: So should I tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: Will I still go to Heaven if I don't tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: So... should I tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: The one time you mentioned the tithe, you said that matters of justice, mercy, faithfulness, and love for God are far weightier matters than tithing.
Master: Yes.
Disciple: But I should still tithe?
Master: Yes.
Disciple: But it is difficult when I make so little!
Master: It will be more so when you make much. Faith, not difficulty, should inform your decisions.
Disciple: When I have mastered the tithe, what then?
Master: It is not a law you are bound by, but a teacher. Move toward it until you have it, move past it if you have attained it. He, who has ears, hears.
