Knowing The God Jesus Knew
I remember as kid having this image in my mind of God: He was a stern man, sort of with a white, full, but short beard, well defined jawline, and always with a serious, piercing, judging look on His face.
What images have you had in your mind? What image do you have now?
Chances are very, very good that whatever your image of God, it is lacking. It is inaccurate. It is false. And to have a false image of God has very serious implications.
How great would it be to get to know God as Jesus knows Him?
As we continue reading the four Gospels together, pay particular attention this. Pay attention to how Jesus speaks about God. How he speaks to God.
To become more and more like Christ, we need to fall more and more in love with the God that Jesus knows and loves.
And since Hebrews tells us that Jesus is the exact representation of God in the flesh, you are getting twice the education about God when you are studying Jesus.
Let's look today at what Jesus tells us about God in the Sermon on the Mount. I bet we'll find ourselves worshipping Him as a result.
