Bringing It In
One time, when Jesus was talking to the teachers of the Law and the elders, he stopped and asked, "Haven't you read this scripture?" (Mk 12:10)
Broadly speaking, this is a powerful question for any of us who claim to desire God. Far too often, we just cruise along in life neglecting the written word.
And considering what the Bible claims it is good for, this is surprising, if not downright tragic. Jesus says that "Whoever believes in me, as the scriptures have said, streams of living water will flow from within him." John 6:38
Do you want streams of living water?
If you do, then you need to spend regular and significant time in your Bible finding, learning from, and being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
What stops you?
"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink," Jesus says. (John 6:37) The source from which we learn about the heart, character, mission, priorities, and life available through Jesus is the Bible.
For 6 weeks, let's all go through the four gospels together. Let's study the written word diligently in our continued efforts at knowing the Living Word...Jesus Christ.
