Two Vastly Different Lives
Can you imagine a scenario where someone faithfully attends every single activity that their church puts on, and God despising it?
Can you imagine a beautiful worship service, that accurately glorifies God in ways that God has prescribed, and God not being able to stand it?
Can you imagine a person who faithfully and regularly lives in a sacrificial way, contributing time and money toward things that are of God, yet God would have no regard for them, or even accept them?
Can you imagine someone worshipping God through song, proclaiming his love and glory, thanking Him for His blessings, and God telling them angrily to stop?
Sounds unbelievable, but believe it.
He does this when the same person described above lives a whole other life completely divorced from justice and righteousness. He does this when a person acts godly sometimes, and acts ungodly at others.
This "duality" is a lifestyle that God hates.
Back in the day, God had Amos point this duality out in the nation of Israel. And in this day, it is our turn to let God point it out in ourselves.
