Small Group Development

Paul penned a verse that plunges deep into my heart. It resonates with my spirit. It explains to me the motives that I have in every relationship. It is in Galatians 4:19 – “I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.”

This is why I have accepted the role of leading Small Group Development at Southwest. The single most important resource we could give you to ensure that Christ is formed in you is a small group of spiritual friends who care about that happening. That is why we are in the pains of birthing small groups.

The irony, I guess, is that we can’t give you those friends. They exist, but we can only create a system that helps you find each other more easily. You have to want them, you have to be one, and you have to find each other.

There are two ways we will help you connect with a group. You can start one on your own or you can form one with other group seekers. We’ll help you with either.

To start one, consider who God might want you to partner with and then ask them (we recommend 2-4 committed people or couples), then go register at one of the sign up tables in the foyer.

To form one, fill out a card in the foyer and mark your calendar to attend one or both of our GroupLink events. The GroupLink on October 15th is a mixer to form gender-specific groups and GroupLink on October 16th is for couples or mixed groups.

Questions? Go visit with an eager Small Group Coach in the foyer!
