Moving From Rows To Circles

Today officially kicks off our 3 month “Give Groups a Try” campaign. As the name suggests, our elders want everyone in the Southwest church family to give groups a try for 6 weeks beginning the week of October 17th.

So for the next 6 weeks, from right now to right then, you’ll notice that everyone and everything is working to help you create or connect with a small group.

We’ve looked at “why” we are doing this for 2 months, at our Bibles and our culture. Being in small groups is spiritually beneficial for us and our neighbors, who are hungry for authentic relationships. So now we will answer the “how” questions.

How will Southwest help us get connected to a small group by October 17th? Just drop by the one of the small group tables in the foyer. Talk to a friendly worker there. You can either register a group or register to get in one.

How do we know what the elders want from our small groups? You’ve already heard the term “SALTi”, which represents our idea of a Biblically balanced small group. We’ll be training on each element on Sunday nights at 6:00 here at the building, starting tonight.

How will we know what to do in our small groups? Every group will get a Group Starter DVD. It has the teaching and discussion questions right on the screen. Just hit play.

How is Southwest going to help multiply and sustain small groups over the long haul? The elders introduced you to the 5 pieces of our new Southwest system. We’ll be explaining these in more depth for the next 6 weeks, starting today, on Sunday mornings.

May God bless us as we move ourselves “from rows to circles.”
