Maturity And Fullness

Disciple: Master, I love to ponder your goodness!

Master: A worthy endeavor indeed. How has it taken root in your actions?

Disciple: Forgive me, Lord, I enjoy stopping my actions and dwelling on your message.

Master: A necessary thing to do in order to have my life. But how does it alter your actions once you take them up again?

Disciple: Please explain, Rabbi, your servant is listening.

Master: You know that I have come to give you life to the full?

Disciple: Most gratefully, yes.

Master: Life to the full is made possible by the goodness you love to ponder, and it has at it's foundation the message you love to dwell on, study, and dialogue about with others. But life to the full will not be your experience until you take my goodness and make it your own, and take my message and live it in your actions quite practically.

Disciple: How could I ever live up to your goodness, or exhibit your message in my very actions? Only you could do this!

Master: And it is I who will do it...in you.

Disciple: I strive and strive, and try and try, but only fail. I can't live like you!

Master: Careful, beloved. If you do not believe that you can have what I offer, then you are right. Immature disbelief is what you must grow out of. As you have heard from me, all things are possible for those who believe.

Disciple: Tell me what to do!

Master: Alter your practical living to conform to a life worthy of calling you have received, become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph 4:1,13)
