The King of Kingdom Do's And Don'ts
Christ is the King of this way of life. He does it better than anyone ever has or ever will. And he calls you to the same.
Put to death your earth-bound desires, and desire God above all things. Your King did.
Forgive everyone of everything now. Your King does.
Do the will of someone else rather than your own. Your King did.
Desire life-giving conversation and connectedness with anyone and everyone in the world. Your King does.
Choose always to have less rather than more. Your King did.
Sincerely love everyone exactly as they are. Your King does.
Always seek the lowest place and consider others better than yourself. Your King did.
Enable no one. Empower everyone. Your King does.
Find the joy set before you and endure the suffering required to get it. Your King did.
Err on the side of grace with everyone. Your King does.
Enter the world to serve, not to be served. Your King did.
Give your life as a ransom for many. Your King does.
Develop intimacy with God through frequent time alone with Him. Your King did.
Do everything you do in and through authentic relationships with others. Your King does.
Live out the Kingdom Do's and Don'ts. It is full of idealism, intimacy, and depth. You'll literally need your King in you to do it.
Fortunately, Paul says that is exactly what is available to you (Colossians 1:27). So time to stop trying to live this way, and surrender to it. And know that there is a big difference. He's lived this way before, he lives it now, and he himself wants to live it again...in and through you.
