Combined Adult Classes on August 31, December 14 and December 21
Jon Blackwell
Library - 701
We will explore the foundations of faith and ultimately the author of our faith – Jesus Christ.
Kyle Wade
Room 603
I love the deep questions of life. I love wrestling with God. Is He good? Why are we here? Why is there so much brokenness in this world? Why do we have to go through these struggles? Our story begins in Genesis but unfortunately many have not wrestled with the text. We have been content with a children's ministry understanding of stories that set the stage for not only the rest of scripture but for our lives as well. Join us this fall as we open an ancient text in order to ask difficult questions of both God and ourselves.

“Jesus came among us to show and teach the life for which we were made,” Dallas Willard. Jesus calls us to a
counter-cultural, counter-reality. A reality that only makes sense with eternity in mind. A reality that represents true emotionally healthy spirituality. This semester, we will be walking through the Sermon on the Mount and exploring what this means for the way we live in the Kingdom of God today.
John Shaver, Kyndal Sims, and Taylor Perry
Room 503
Each week, we will invite the Holy Spirit to speak to us—through a song, scripture, or video - as we grow together as a Christ-rooted family. Guided by His presence, we’re learning to love ourselves as He does and to reflect that love upward and outward.
“The Upper Room,” inspired by Acts 1 & 2, reminds us there are no limits with God - just the invitation to let Him move and the beauty of Jesus’ gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We’re committed to genuine relationships, breaking the boxes we place around faith, and discovering that in Christ, we all belong - just as we are.

Room A2
The Mission of Southwest Church is to love first, become like Jesus, and advance His mission. How do we do that?
After being born again by His Spirit, we have to learn to follow Jesus. Let’s look at what He and His disciples did and how practicing the same disciplines can lead to a rich and fruitful life in Him.

Wednesdays - September 3rd – November 19th
7:00-8:00pm, Room 601
How do we love those we don’t like?! How do we befriend those who are different? How do we bear with those who annoy us or worse, anger us? How do we love our neighbor as we are called to by Jesus? These are some of the questions we will explore as we read Across the Fence from Roy, by Russell Camp.
This will not be your normal book study or Bible class, but you don’t want to miss it! Across the Fence From Roy “is a humorous and heartfelt story about the preconceived notions of our differences. Are we as different as we are being led to believe? And if we are, can we still be friends, family, and neighbors in spite of our differences?” (as described on Amazon)
Each week we will discuss the story, what we noticed, what spiritual lessons we see, and how we can apply these to our own neighboring. And as a special bonus, we will be joined each week by the author!
This class will meet September 3 – November 19th from 7-8pm but will NOT meet on September 10th or October 29th

This is a group of women that meet the first Wednesday of each month to grow with God and each other while enjoying reading. We meet at 6:30 pm, for the first 5-10 minutes we just have conversation as people arrive. At around 6:40 we continue to talk about anything that is heavy on the heart for someone. Around 6:50-7, we start to discuss the book we just read; what we liked or didn’t like, our favorite part(s), do we want something like that or something completely different, etc. We will wrap up at 7 pm so we can attend the Adult Women’s class. We will be reading "Women Who Risk: Secret Agents for Jesus in the Muslim World" by Tom Doyle and JoAnn Doyle.
