This year for Tribe, we will be joined by David Fraze from Lubbock Christian University. David is an Associate Professor of Youth and Family Ministry and Special Assistant to the President at Lubbock Christian University. David has over 30 years of experience in ministry specializing in youth and family ministry and earned a Doctorate from Fuller Seminary. David is an author, a speaker in demand, and serves as a “Character Coach” for the Frenship High School athletic department. We invite any and all who are part of the Southwest Tribe to join us this year to hear from David.
A bigger story. The temptation in our world today is to dive into our own little worlds, focus on our own issues, and need no one. And yet this worldview is completely different than the story that King Jesus calls His people to. Christians are called to a bigger story. A story that isn’t just about ourselves. A story that places King Jesus and His mission at the center, and not our own issues. A story that that is to be lived out with others, in community.
“All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people.” – Acts 2:44-47
The first Christians in Acts were living a bigger story. And we too are called to a bigger story. So this year at Tribe Retreat it will be another opportunity for our church to gather together, get outside our silos and normal people groups, and listen and learn from each other. We will be together and eat together and worship together. And hopefully realize again how beautiful and powerful and life-giving is the bigger story that God invites us, and our community into. Come join us on Tribe Retreat and step into this bigger story!
Registration is now closed. Contact the church office if you would still like to go at 806-352-5647.
