We exist to love first, become like Jesus,
and advance His mission.
LOVE FIRST.
While we believe there are many important and useful areas of life and doctrine, Jesus and scripture are clear that we are to make love our highest priority (Matthew 22:36-40). In fact, Paul says that if we get everything else right, but leave out love, we are getting it wrong (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). If you are looking for a place of imperfect, but loving people, you might want to try Southwest.
BECOME LIKE JESUS.
Jesus told us to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), which John understood to mean that “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6). Everything we do, teach, and pray for is intended to help us become more like Jesus in heart, character, mission, priorities, and attitude. We believe this is the fullest, most abundant way to live. If you are interested in your life being transformed to more closely reflect Jesus, you might be interested in Southwest.
ADVANCE HIS MISSION.
Putting the above values together, we consider ourselves a “Great Commission-Great Commandment” church. The greatest command to love God and love others compels us, and the great commission to make disciples inspires us, to join Jesus in his mission. What we have found in Jesus we want to share.
