Doyle grew up in Lubbock, Texas, at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. He attended Lubbock Christian University, where he met his wife, Christy. Doyle and Christy then transferred to Texas Tech University where they both received degrees in Music Education. After working for several years in retirement care, he served for three years at Garland Street Church of Christ in Plainview, Texas, as the associate minister for youth and young families.
Doyle and Christy moved to Southwest in August of 2000 to focus on worship ministry and begin a college-age ministry. In 2005, Doyle took on the office administration duties at Southwest and now serves Southwest by organizing and directing all of our Large Group Gatherings. In 2014, Doyle joined the Eldership at Southwest.

Christy also performs often with the Amarillo Little Theater and the Amarillo Opera. Doyle and Christy have three children, Everett, who is the Communications Coordinator for the Texas Tech Alumni Association, Avery, a worship resident at Redeemer Church in Lubbock, and Truett, a student at Lubbock Christian University.
I was both the 6th grade hula hoop champ and the 6th grade chess champ at Hardwick Elementary in Lubbock, Tx.
I love sports. Baseball especially but any sport will do. I teach drumline at Amarillo High School. When I get a chance, I love to play disc golf with my family and friends.
The Philippines. I have travelled there several times to our mission site and can’t wait to go back. Some of it is the beauty of the country... most of it is the beauty of the people. I would also love to visit the Holy Lands.
Guacamole. Most any Mexican Food. Steak.
I like most all types of music. I enjoy classical music. The renaissance vocal motets are some of my favorites but I also enjoy Mozart’s Requiem and other big pieces. I enjoy good Big Band Jazz music... especially Harry Connick, Jr. I enjoy the sound tracks of Hans Zimmmer and John Williams. I enjoy really good marching band music (DCI). I enjoy southern gospel (Gather Vocal Band, David Phelps). I enjoy the old hymns, the Stamps Baxter songs, and contemporary Christian worship music. I enjoy music!
My favorite song of all time is probably “Purple is the Color of a Sore Thumb” written mostly by my daughter, Avery, with creative input by my two sons.
