Route 56

5th & 6th Grades

There is so much in our culture that is against the way of Christ. Our families are so busy with so many good things; we have forgotten the one thing that matters. Will we as parents reclaim our homes, our schedules, and our hearts and become apprentices of Jesus and lead our children to do the same?

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Route 56Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deut 6:4-9

Route 56 is a unique environment designed specifically for our 5th and 6th grade students here at Southwest. These students and their families are beginning a journey towards adolescence. We seek to come alongside them in this journey towards a missional relationship with God. Route 56 seeks to provide a safe place to engage God and each other through scripture, service, conversation, and fun.Route 56

While here at the building, we have created an atmosphere where kids and their parents want to be. We have written a curriculum that attempts to engage scripture to both meet the Lord and deal with the hard questions this age group has in our culture today.

However, we also realize that what happens at home is far more important than what happens at this building. Southwest is dedicated to coming alongside moms and dads to equip them for the journey ahead through classes, retreats, and offering mentoring relationships to both the student and the parents.
