Rachael Patterson

Children's Minister

Rachael was born in the Panhandle and has lived in this area most all her life. She attended West Texas A&M University and graduated in 2001. She met her husband while attending college and was married at WT's chapel. Heath and Rachael found their church home at Southwest in 2002. Since becoming a member, Rachael has found her passion of working with children in the church. She is very excited to have an opportunity to help families with their journey in Christ.

Rachael enjoys spending time with her family, going to Palo Duro Canyon, watching WT sports and traveling. Heath and Rachael have two awesome kids, Kirklynn and Riley, and are enjoying watching them grow up.

What is an interesting fact about you?

My favorite thing to do is bug my husband.

What are your hobbies?

I love lots of outdoor activities in the sunshine and spending time with my family.

Greatest accomplishment?

Being married 14 years IN A ROW!

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

Hawaii, the DC area, London, Central America, the Mediterranean sounds nice, lots of beaches…

Favorite foods?

I love Mexican food! I could eat it every day!

Favorite vacation?

Disney World has been the most magical so far, but we haven’t had a bad vacation yet.

Favorite Bible verse?

Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Baby Blessing - I bet Adrian can't say that!  haha.

What do you love about Southwest?

 This church has become my family. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 sums it up. “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.” That is what I love about Southwest.
